Srikanth Viswanathan, CEO – Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy

Srikanth is Chief Executive Officer of Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy. Janaagraha is a Bengaluru based non-profit working with the mission of transforming quality of life in India’s cities and towns. Janaagraha works with citizens to catalyse active citizenship in city neighbourhoods and with governments to institute reforms to city governance. Srikanth’s focus area in the urban sector has been “city-systems” reforms spanning Janaagraha’s flagship report the Annual Survey of India’s City- Systems (ASICS) and municipal finance reforms. Srikanth has been an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for fifteen years and prior to joining Janaagraha worked in banking and audit.

Anand Iyer, Director – Projects

Anand joins with over 20 years of experience across State & Central Govt. agencies in Urban Development; Private sector entities in Land, Infrastructure and Building; and Academia in Architecture & Design.

Anand works on growth & strategy for organizations, developing policy, programs and projects. His core areas are Urban Affairs, Land Development, Climate Action and Architecture. He was Chief Project Manager at the National Institute of Urban Affairs, New Delhi (Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs); AGM, Strategy & Planning at Aspen Infrastructures, Pune (Suzlon Family Group), and has been a Consultant / Expert with different organizations, apart from professional and research work with large design firms.

He is an architect from CEPT University and has studied Critical Theory from Nottingham University, England. With a passion for History and the Humanities, he inquires into the Social, Political & Ideological perspectives that inform Development.

Agrim Gupta – Municipal Research Analyst

Agrim is a Civil Engineer and Urban Planner from NIT-Bhopal, and has worked in urban planning consulting and civil engineering firms. He has used GIS to map the existing urban systems and project consequences of planning changes for various regions. He is currently involved in a Feasibility Study for Municipal Consulting, with goal setting, data collection and analysis.
His core area of interest is the design and regulation of space uses, focusing on the physical form, economic functions, social impacts of the urban environment, solid waste management, and transportation planning. He aims to expand to design, forecasting and strategic planning.
